
Sophie McKinlay claimed the Scottish Classic Women's title in dramatic fashion on Saturday, defeating Macy Gibbons 5-4 in a gripping final played live on stage from 5pm at the Normandy Hotel.
In a contest that could not have been closer statistically, McKinlay averaged 70.90 to Gibbons' 70.32, with the match going all the way to a deciding leg. Holding her nerve under the stage lights, McKinlay delivered when it mattered most to secure the Silver-ranked WDF title.

McKinlay's route to the trophy was built on consistency and composure. She produced a strong 79.28 average in her 4-2 semi-final victory over Giffy Khaosoi, while Gibbons advanced after defeating Gemma Hayter 4-2 in the other semi-final.
Earlier in the day, standout performances included Gemma Hayter's impressive 84.11 average in the quarter-finals, highlighting the high standard across the field as players battled through from the Top 128 stage.
The atmosphere inside the Normandy Hotel provided a fitting backdrop for a thrilling day of women's darts, with Target continuing its support of one of Scotland's flagship WDF Silver-ranked events.
