Top Flight Champion Mitchell Lawrie

The Scottish Darts Youth Tour got off to a flying start with Event 1, proudly sponsored by Target Darts, held at CISWO Glenrothes.
A brand-new record was set for player attendance, with an incredible 89 youth players competing on the day. The venue was buzzing throughout, with several hundred parents, family members, and supporters in attendance, creating a fantastic atmosphere and underlining the continued growth of youth darts in Scotland.
Tournament Director Sharon MacFalane expressed her delight with the turnout, praising both the players and the support shown on the day.
“We’re absolutely delighted with the numbers for Event 1. To see a record turnout of players, along with so many parents and supporters, really shows how strong youth darts is becoming in Scotland. The atmosphere was brilliant, and it gives us a lot of excitement and confidence heading into the rest of the year’s events.”
With a hugely successful opening event now complete, the Scottish Darts Youth Tour looks forward to building on this momentum as the series continues throughout the year.

Scottish darts witnessed a truly historic moment at the WDF World Championships, held at the iconic Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green, as 15-year-old Mitchell Lawrie delivered one of the most extraordinary tournament performances ever recorded. Lawrie claimed the WDF World Youth Championship before going on to reach the final of the Men’s WDF World Darts Championship in the same event.
Competing on one of darts’ most famous stages, Lawrie consistently demonstrated composure, scoring power and maturity far beyond his years, announcing himself as one of the brightest talents the sport has ever produced.
Lawrie’s youth campaign at Lakeside was nothing short of dominant. He progressed through the knockout stages with confidence, posting strong averages and showing exceptional control under pressure throughout the week.
In the World Youth Championship Final, staged on the famous Lakeside stage, Lawrie defeated Florian Preis 4–2 to lift the world title. His path to the trophy included a commanding 3–0 semi-final victory over Kaya Baysal and a 2–0 quarter-final win against Adam Sepsi, underlining his consistency across the tournament.
Crowned WDF World Youth Champion, the 15-year-old Scot completed a flawless youth campaign on darts’ most iconic floor.

It is with deep sadness that we mark the passing of Enid Vincent, a much-loved figure in the darts community. Enid was dedicated to the sport for many years, contributing greatly to Berkshire Darts and serving the British Darts Organisation, especially during the BDO tour and the Lakeside World Championships.
Enid’s warmth, reliability, and love for darts made her a respected and cherished presence wherever she went. She supported players of all ages and was known for her kindness and unwavering commitment behind the scenes.
The Scottish Darts Association extends its heartfelt condolences to Enid’s family and friends. Her legacy will remain a valued part of our sport, and she will be deeply missed.
Rest in peace, Enid.

Following the remarkable performances of SDA Youth at the Europe Cup Youth Event, we can truly appreciate the journey taken. This year belonged to the boys, building on the successes of the girls from last year who also achieved first-place finishes. We celebrated our first Gold in the Boys Singles event, thanks to Mitchell's outstanding performance. The experience gained from competing in Round Robins during our SDA Youth events, followed by knockout stages, has equipped the players with the endurance needed for longer formats and demanding days of darts.
