Ryan Hogarth and Sean Fisher were crowned champions of The Target 2026 Scottish Open Men’s Pairs after a superb run to the title at the Normandy Hotel in Renfrew. In the final, the pair delivered their most dominant performance of the tournament, producing a composed and clinical display to defeat Jenson Walker and Nick Fullwell 3–0 and lift the championship trophy.
Sponsored by Target, the Men’s Pairs event featured a huge field and a relentless knockout format, with matches played as a race to three legs. Across the rounds—from the early stages through to the business end—there was no shortage of tight finishes and deciding-leg drama, underlining the depth of quality throughout the draw.
Hogarth and Fisher looked sharp from the outset, setting the tone with a strong 3–0 win over Douthwaite and McClurg in the Top 64, and they continued to build momentum as the pressure increased. Their quarter-final against Michael Thomson and Lee Gove proved to be a major test, with Hogarth and Fisher forced into a deciding leg before edging through 3–2. That result seemed to spark them into an even higher gear, and in the semi-final they turned in another high-level performance to overcome Joe Croft and Geoffrey Heath 3–1, booking their place in the final with confidence.
Walker and Fullwell’s route to the final was packed with big moments. They showed their intent with a series of strong victories, including a commanding 3–0 quarter-final win over Craig Robertson (Wheeler) and Angus Murray. Their semi-final clash against Jim McEwan and Alex Williams was one of the standout matches of the event, with Walker and Fullwell holding their nerve in a deciding leg to win 3–2 and reach the final.
Other pairs also produced memorable runs. McEwan and Williams were ruthless in the quarter-finals with a 3–0 win over Darren McMahon and Lee Shields, and they had earlier battled through the Top 16 with a hard-fought 3–2 victory over Ennis and McCrory. Croft and Heath delivered a gritty tournament as well, including a tense 3–2 quarter-final win over Hogg and Trueman, before being stopped in the last four by the eventual champions.
When it came to the championship match, however, Hogarth and Fisher were simply in control. They settled immediately, managed the key moments, and finished efficiently to complete a convincing 3–0 victory—bringing an emphatic end to a demanding tournament and confirming themselves as worthy Men’s Pairs champions.
