Rebecca Eleanor Allen and Lynsey Ward were crowned champions of The Target 2026 Scottish Open Women’s Pairs after a commanding and composed performance in the final at the Normandy Hotel, Renfrew. Producing their strongest display of the day when it mattered most, the duo sealed the title with a clinical 3–0 victory over Michelle Binns and Marie Fitton, lifting one of the standout trophies on the Scottish calendar.
Sponsored by Target, the Women’s Pairs event once again delivered high-quality competition from the Top 64 stage onwards, with all matches played over the best of five legs. The format ensured fast-paced encounters and left no room for error, with several ties going the full distance.
Allen and Ward’s route to the title was far from straightforward. They were pushed hard in the Top 64, edging past Turnbull and Pattison 3–2 before finding their rhythm. A convincing 3–0 win over McKinnon and Hepburn in the Top 16 was followed by another dominant 3–0 performance against Binnie and Torrance in the quarter-finals.
Their semi-final clash against Emily Davidson and Christine Hyde proved to be one of the matches of the tournament. With both pairs trading legs throughout, Allen and Ward held their nerve in the deciding leg to secure a 3–2 victory and book their place in the final.
On the other side of the draw, Michelle Binns and Marie Fitton were equally impressive. They opened their campaign with a 3–0 win over McDiarmid and Mitchell in the Top 64 and survived a tough Top 32 battle against Grafton and Hepburn, progressing 3–2. From there, they hit top form, recording back-to-back 3–0 victories over Forrester and Mason in the Top 16 and McKinlay and Pauling in the quarter-finals. A strong 3–1 semi-final win over McGimpsey and McMahon secured their place in the championship match.
The final, however, belonged to Allen and Ward. Settling quickly, they controlled the pace of the match, capitalised on scoring opportunities and finished efficiently on the doubles to complete a 3–0 victory and claim the 2026 title in style.
Elsewhere in the event, Davidson and Hyde impressed with a dramatic 3–2 quarter-final win over Thompson and Whillis before reaching the semi-finals, while McGimpsey and McMahon demonstrated resilience with multiple tight victories en route to the last four.
From the opening round to the final dart, The Target 2026 Scottish Open Women’s Pairs showcased the depth and competitiveness of the women’s game. In the end, it was Rebecca Eleanor Allen and Lynsey Ward who stood tallest, delivering a performance worthy of champions at the Normandy Hotel in Renfrew.
