In the final, Lawrie defeated James Beeton 5-1 with an impressive 95.36 average, finishing the job in style after a superb run through the later rounds. Lawrie had earlier shown his intent with a solid 4-2 win over Dylan Slevin (90.49 average) in the last 16, before edging a tight quarter-final against Stuart Wares 4-3. He then stormed through the semi-final, whitewashing Ryan Hogarth 5-0 to book his place in the showpiece.
Beeton reached the final in strong form himself, producing one of the performances of the tournament in the semi-finals with a 102.75 average as he beat Scott Campbell 5-3. He also impressed in the quarter-finals, seeing off Patrick Quinn 4-1 with a 94.37 average, but Lawrie proved too strong on the night when it mattered most.
